Shipping policy

At Mary Elizabeth Marvin, every artwork is handled with the same care and intention with which it was created. We understand that original paintings are meaningful investments, and our shipping process is designed to ensure your piece arrives safely, securely, and beautifully—no matter where in the world it is going.

Order Processing
Once your order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation. Our studio then begins preparing your artwork for shipment. Because each piece is unique, packaging requirements vary:

  • Smaller works typically ship within 3–5 business days

  • Larger or more delicate paintings may require 5–10 business days for custom wrapping, reinforcement, or crate-building

This additional time allows us to provide the highest level of protection.

Packaging Standards
All originals are packed using museum-quality materials, including:

  • Archival glassine or paper

  • Layered padding

  • Reinforced edges

  • Durable outer protection

Large-scale pieces may be shipped rolled in a tube, in custom crates or via white-glove art handling services, depending on size and destination. Every shipment includes tracking, and high-value works may require a signature upon delivery.

Domestic & International Shipping
We ship worldwide. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on size, weight, and destination.

International collectors should note:

  • Customs duties, VAT, import taxes, and related fees are not included in the artwork price or shipping cost

  • These fees are determined by your local customs authority and must be paid by the recipient

  • We recommend checking local customs policies in advance

Transit Times
Fine art requires specialized handling, so transit times may differ from standard shipments:

  • Domestic: 3–10 business days after dispatch

  • International: 7–21 business days, depending on customs and carrier schedules

Tracking details will be shared once your artwork leaves the studio.

Damages & Claims
If your package arrives with visible damage, please photograph the box before opening it.
In the rare event the artwork is damaged during transit:

We take these matters seriously and will work with you toward a resolution.
